The Garden Club of Ellijay is a member of The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. (Laurel District I) and National Garden Clubs, Inc. (The Deep South Region).
Since 1991, The Garden Club of Ellijay has been active in beautifying the community and instilling a love of gardening. We have a diverse membership of all ages and backgrounds, from beginners to quite experienced gardeners. Our mission is the same as that of The Garden Club of Georgia: Beautification, Conservation and Education.
We are a working club that keeps very busy with a plant sale in the spring and a summer flower show. Day trips are scheduled throughout the year to public and private gardens.
We are very proud to have members who hold positions on The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. Board and the Laurel District Board. We are also proud to have nationally accredited Flower Show Judges, Georgia Master Gardeners and Georgia Master Naturalists in our membership.
Our contribution to the community is extensive with donations to the Community Food Pantry, landscaping and planting in the community, installation and maintenance of the Trail of Tears marker on Highway 515, planting and maintaining of the downtown planters and a Junior Garden Club (Youth Club) that was formed in 2007 and has won many first place National Garden Club awards.
